Attending an assessment.

What to expect

You can expect a comprehensive evaluation designed to provide an objective review of your condition/injury. Dr Mackay will begin by reviewing your medical history and any relevant documentation provided by the referring law firm or insurer before conducting a thorough physical examination. Dr Mackay may ask detailed questions about your symptoms, lifestyle, and how your condition affects your daily life. This assessment aims to assess the current state of your impairment and recommendations. Throughout the process, Dr Mackay will maintain a professional and impartial stance, focusing on providing an accurate and unbiased assessment. A report will then be compiled and sent to the requesting firm or insurer.

Where to go for your assessment

If you are attending Brisbane Private Hospital, there is a carpark under the hospital which can be accessed via Birley St or Lilley St, Spring Hill. This carpark is billed at normal inner-city car parking rates. This car park is sometimes full, so you may need to try one of the other car parking stations on Wickham Terrace. There is also metered street parking around Wickham Terrace. We are a short walk from Central and Roma Street train stations.

How long will the assessment take?

An assessment may take 15-45 minutes, depending on the extent of your injuries and if multiple areas are being evaluated.

What to bring

The requesting party will have provided Dr Mackay with a comprehensive brief on your previous treatment & investigations. Please feel free to bring any other relevant information that you would like to provide to Dr Mackay on the day of your assessment.

Can I bring someone with me?

You are welcome to bring a support person or carer. Please note these interviews can be complex and lengthy and children should not be in attendance.
